Hey, friends. Caleb here with Prima Coffee. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Baratza Sette 270Wi. If you're familiar with the Sette 270 series, this is the newest addition replacing the 270W. It's a weight-dosing grinder it's the same as the W but we have some improvements, which we'll get into as we go through this. Up top we have the 10-ounce hopper with a shut-off collar. As we move down the bean path we come to 40-millimeter steel conical burrs. In front of that, we have the digital display. We have three programmable buttons, a stop button, a start/pause button, and up and down arrows. The start/pause button also works as just kind of a incremental dosing. So you are able to add in like a 10th of a gram if it's off a little bit.

Continuing down the path, we come to the grind size adjustment assembly. So we have 30 macro adjustments and then we have 9 micro or stepless adjustments. So you have near infinite amount of possibilities, making this a really great grinder for espresso. As we move down you'll see that the bean path is just straight through to the portafilter. So this straight through path leaves hardly any room for any retention. So that's a great feature. Below the portafilter there are these adjustable forks. So it can hold either a portafilter or the five and a half ounce grounds bin that is included. One of the really unique features of the 270Wi is that they have kind of responded to the issues that people were having with the 270W. The issues that people were having were the fact that it was having inconsistent dosing on more unstable surfaces. So they've kind of tried to fix that with this update, and they've done really well with that.

So another thing is that it automatically adjusts the offset. So in the past if you were...you try to get 18 grams and it was 18.2, every time you had to go in and manually adjust that. But now it automatically learns that only after a few doses. So that's really helpful. So let's go ahead and grind up just a little bit. We have it set to 18 grams here. We'll go ahead and grind. And we got 17.9. So, I mean, this... It's super consistent and every once in while we might get a 10th of a gram off but if we had kept grinding it should learn that. It's specifically designed more for home espresso use though it can get up to maybe like a single-brew pour over. It's more consistent when you're grinding for espresso. Anyway, so that's the Baratza 270Wi. If you have any questions or concerns, hit us up. We'd love to talk to you.
